R2 has been invited for a lecture and two-day workshop about Sign and Senses at Sint-Lukas Brussels University College of Art and Design, Belgium. The edition's theme aims to investigate how designers use signs and sign systems to achieve sensitivity that goes beyond mere orientation, information or explanation.
The event is organised by Inge Gobert and Johan Van Looveren from Sint-Lukas Hogeschool along with Beursschouwburg. During this year other designers were invited to reflect on this subject, among them: Karsten Schmidt, Petr van Blokland, Andreas Uebele and Peter Crnokrak.
Being part of the programme of Shapeshifters, R2 participated in the in-depth sessions, organised for the Typo/Graphics masters students. These sessions aimed to stimulate the debate about the future of a highly evolving graphic landscape and visual culture in general.
Shapeshifters is meant to be an interactive research platform and an open forum that should stimulate creative thinking and debate on the future of graphic design and of visual culture in general.
